We play everything from classic rock 'n roll (The Beatles, Elvis, Chuck Berry, CCR) to classic R&B (Motown, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Brenton Wood) to more Modern-Day artists (John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Coldplay, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, James Taylor) and MORE! The Fortunate Sons were such a pleasure to hire. Actually, we had already hired a band from Charleston that we were familar with. However, after we heard The Fortunate Sons at a local Wedding Festival, we knew we had to have them for our wedding. After meeting with the band one evening, we were sold. Not only is their music very appropriate for a wedding, but their attitudes and personality made it an easy decision. They were easy to work with during the entire planning, and our reception was amazing. We believe, by far, they were the easiest part of the entire wedding planning. Not only did everyone love the music, but we actually had two friends attend the wedding that actually hired The Fortunate Sons to perform at their wedding! We wouldn't have changed a thing about the music,we were both very pleased.
Shawn and I had Jonathan Whitten and the Fortunate Sons play for our wedding reception. At first, we were planning on having a DJ, but I'm extremely pleased that we changed our minds. The music was lively- music to which you can actually dance. However, it was not music that I would have been embarrassed for our grandmothers to hear! We were so pleased at the professionalism the young men had. The music was well rehearsed, the emcee-ing was well spoken, the guys looked sharp, and they put on a great show for the wedding party! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who would like to have a memorable event. Thanks Fortunate Sons for the sweet tunes and day that we will never forget!

We had the privilege of having Jonathan Whitten and the fortunate sons play at our wedding and we would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a reception band. They are extremely talanted and play music that everyone can dance to. They were tons of fun to work with and helped make our wedding a day we will never forget.

Our daughter was recently married, and we hired The Fortunate Sons to play at the reception. They were amazing! I must have had at least 100 people come up and tell me how much they enjoyed the band! They are an extremely talented group! I think someday, I'll be glad that we hired them before they were famous! The whole experience was very professional. Jonathan came to our home and explained what we should expect. He gave us a list of songs that they can do without any notice, and asked us for our requests. We signed a contract, put down a deposit, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The songs for the special dances were just as we requested. The guys looked so nice. It was nice to see these young, "cool", guys dress appropriately, and play such a wide variety of music. They played music that all generations enjoyed. Everyone from little children to the oldest couple there danced all night. Thanks for making our daughter's reception such a wonderful, memorable experience!

From the first time Will and I heard The Fortunate Sons play at a wedding expo in Greenville, we knew we couldn't have anything less than their stellar energy and quality of live music at our wedding reception. Everything from their style to their set list, willingness to communicate over the course of our wedding planning and enthusiasm to learn new songs just for our wedding day attracted my husband and me. When our wedding day arrived, we received as many compliments on the band as we did my dress or our cake! Everybody had an amazing time dancing to their tunes and even people across the river in downtown could hear the band and recognized the songs - The Fortunate Sons started a citywide party that night in downtown Greenville. If you're thinking of hiring a band instead of a DJ, but are concerned about the money - don't be! The price difference is negligible and the payoff is more than you woud ever get with a DJ. If you're thinking of another band, stop right now because you will never find the professionalism and attention to detail that these young men provide anywhere else. Hiring The Fortunate Sons was the best decision we made in the planning of our wedding reception.
